Grilled Steak and Shrimp Kabobs

Grilled Steak and Shrimp Kabobs

This Grilled Steak and Shrimp Kabobs recipe is a bound to be a summer favorite…whether serving for just your family or an entire party.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup teriyaki sauce
  • 1 can (6 ounces) pineapple juice
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 4 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 pound beef top sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 pound raw large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 pound whole fresh mushrooms
  • 1 large green pepper, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 large red pepper, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 large yellow pepper, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 2 medium onions, cut into quarters
  • 1 pint cherry tomatoes

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine and mix together the teriyaki sauce, pineapple juice, brown sugar, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, and black pepper. Pour equal halves of the marinade into two separate large resealable plastic bags. Then add beef and shrimp into one bag, and add vegetables into the other. Seal bag and turn to coat. Refrigerate for up to 4-6 hours, or overnight, turning occasionally.
  2. When ready to start cooking, drain and discard marinade. Preheat grill to medium high heat.
  3. Meanwhile, on metal or soaked wooden skewers, alternately thread beef, shrimp, peppers, onions, tomatoes, and mushrooms.
  4. When ready to grill, place the skewers across the grill grates. Turn each of the skewers every 3-4 minutes, allowing each side to brown evenly. You want a good amount of brown or char on the vegetables, while the meat should come out to a medium browning.
  5. Then serve enjoy these delicious Grilled Steak and Shrimp Kabobs!

This Grilled Steak and Shrimp Kabobs recipe can be combined with additional or alternate types of vegetables or fruits. Feel free to experiment with different flavors!

The marinated vegetables are the best part! Ok, so is the shrimp and steak, but it’s all good, haha!

Does the marinade make the steak and shrimp taste sweet? Sorry I’m bugging lol it’s just my husband’s birthday is tomorrow and I want to make sure it’s perfect ^_^

Melinda, you’re not bugging me! I’m happy to answer your questions.

The marinade does have a hint of sweetness to it, but not at all overpowering. The marinade in combination with a light char on the meat and shrimp, as well as the vegetables, will make this whole recipe come together perfectly.

Personally, my favorite types of sauces / marinades have a combination of sweet and savory. Give the meat and vegetables time to marinade. The longer the better! Good luck with the recipe, I’m sure your husband will enjoy it!

Hi there! I’m so sorry I didn’t touch base with you in how the yummy dinner went! Girl!! They were such a big hit. Everyone was in love with these kabobs even my neighbours were sneaking some home. I made so many there were left overs for everyone. My sister in law said you know how you crave A1 sauce with steak? Well not with these kabobs! They were so tender and juicy and the veggies….. mmmmm mmmmm my favorite was the mushrooms! And I added zucchini and was a huge success! I’m sharing this recipe with everyone… well I might just take all the credit 😉 jk

Melinda…

Good to hear back from you! That’s great that everyone enjoyed the kabobs.

I just so happened to make them again myself this past weekend. This time I actually substituted the steak with chicken, and they were delicious just the same. It’s funny that you mentioned adding zucchini to the kabobs, because prior to reading your comment, my girlfriend had just suggested this weekend that we should do so as well. So, I’ll try adding zucchini the next time I make them.

Please feel free to stop by my site again and try some of my other recipes. I hope to hear from you!

The Grilled Steak and Shrimp Kabob recipe looks great, but I can’t find how many the quantities serve. I am planning a big party, for about 25. Should I double or triple the recipe?

Thanks from Mexico City!

Hello Susan… Thanks for stopping by my website from Mexico City!

I think the quantity depends on whether this is the primary dish for the party, or if it’s alongside a number of other supporting dishes you plan on serving. At the very least I would suggest making 3 times the recipe quantity I have if it’s intended to serve up to 25 people.

Good luck and I hope it turns out great for you!

Haha! I got you, Paul!

Grilling season is upon us, and this is a recipe to get it started. When I make this, I don’t usually cook many other sides to go along with it since it has meat, seafood, and loads of vegetables. It’s a full meal in itself!

Of course, you can’t ever go wrong grilling some corn with any BBQ recipe!

I hope you enjoy!
