Amidst all the activity going on around me during our Memorial Day barbeque, I was able to snap a few pictures of my burgers before they were snatched up by the crowd. This was the best picture I could come up with. Nevertheless, this is a tasty burger!
A nice presentation nonetheless for impromptu photo taking. Much like many of the other Memorial Day BBQ Grill Warriors out there, I too grilled up some burgers.
I may have said this before but I’m always looking for some inspiration. I rarely duplicate recipes that I come across (unless I’m trying to give a fair opinion of someone else’s recipe). I was watching 30 Minute Meals, by far not one of my favorite cooking shows, and one of the recipes was a burger with beer and smoked Gouda cheese chunked and incorporated into the meat. And, I thought to myself, BEER! I like beer with burgers, why not in burgers?! GENIUS! Long story short, I put half a bottle of beer in 2 lbs of ground beef and the usual burger ingredients and….Not bad. I don’t have a recipe to post because I have to perfect the recipe a little more. But, I thought the BEER concept (and the smoked Gouda, yum) were worth mentioning. Fool around with it, it’s worth it! Plus it’s a good reason to buy beer if you don’t already have some. I used MGD (Miller Genuine Draft) because that’s what I had on had but I’m picking up some Sam Adams and am going to try a lager next time.
I have only one word to describe this recipe – AMAZING! I have tried making this last night and my kids definitely loved it. Now they have a new favorite dinner. I actually loved it too, it also went really well with a cold glass of coffee, beans freshly ground on my new cuisinart coffee grinder Thanks for sharing this recipe! Hope there are more posts to come!
