Spicy Garlic Shrimp
This Spicy Garlic Shrimp recipe features flavors of garlicky oil, butter, red pepper and Old Bay Seasoning. This sauteed shrimp recipe goes great as an appetizer for any party or as a side dish for a family meal!
Ingredients
- 2 pounds large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- Old Bay Seasoning to taste (see below for quantity)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
Heat olive oil and butter in large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic to skillet and allow to cook for up to 1 minute, or until garlic lightly browns. Then add shrimp to skillet.
Season shrimp with crushed red pepper flakes, salt and black pepper. Then give a good coating of Old Bay Seasoning. After 2 minutes, stir shrimp and sprinkle another even coating of Old Bay Seasoning. Allow to cook another 2-3 minutes, or until shrimp is pink and cooked through.
Remove shrimp from heat. Place shrimp onto serving dish, and spoon remainder of the garlic into separate bowl for dipping, alongside an additional bowl of cocktail sauce.
Then enjoy this Spicy Garlic Shrimp recipe!
Notes
I recommend leaving the tail on the shrimp when serving this Spicy Garlic Shrimp recipe as an appetizer so that the shrimp is easier to pick up as finger food.
I suggest serving this Spicy Garlic Shrimp recipe as an appetizer with the dipping sauces recommended above (a side of the remainder of garlic sauce used in the sauteed shrimp and a side of cocktail sauce). You may also serve this over pasta with the garlic sauce as a seasoning for the pasta.
If you prefer your shrimp even spicier, add an additional coating of Old Bay Seasoning prior to serving! Enjoy!
