Fire up the grill!  This Grilled Lime Chicken and Avocado Wraps recipe with a kick of lime is an absolute summer favorite, and very easy to make!

  • 1 1/2 pounds of boneless chicken tenderloins
  • 1 package of flatbread
  • 3 ripe avocados
  • 1/2 cup of grape tomatoes, diced
  • 1/4 cup of chopped red onion
  • 2 tablespoons of olive tapenade
  • 2 teaspoons of minced garlic
  • 3/4 cup of lettuce, shredded
  • 1 cup of shredded cheddar pepper jack cheese
  • 2 tablespoons of butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons of lime juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper, divided
  • 3/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
  • 2 teaspoons of garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of dried thyme

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine melted butter, olive oil, lime juice, 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper, salt, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, and dried thyme.  Mix thoroughly, and then add chicken.  Allow to marinate in refrigerator for up to 30-60 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, preheat grill to high.
  3. In a separate mixing bowl, combine avocado, onion, olive tapenade, garlic, and 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper.  Mix thoroughly into a paste.  Add tomatoes to paste and mix gently.
  4. Halve the flatbreads, and evenly spread avocado paste over the inside of flatbread.
  5. Sprinkle lettuce oven paste in flatbread.  Set flatbreads aside.
  6. Remove chicken from refrigerator and fully cook on grill.
  7. When chicken is finished cooking, remove from grill and place chicken tenderloin in each wrap.
  8. Top the chicken with shredded pepper jack cheese.
  9. Fold over flat bread, and place on grill.  Lightly grill each side for approximately 1-2 minutes.  Then serve the Grilled Lime Chicken and Avocado Wraps!

  1. I was lucky enough to try this recipe, and I must say these wraps are unbelievable! An instant favorite of mine. It seems like a complex recipe to make with all the ingredients, yet it really is quite simple.

I love avocados, and the avocado paste in this recipe is so good that it can be eaten by itself. The chicken has it’s own unique, spicy garlic lime flavor that combines perfectly with the avocado paste.

To grill the flatbread for a minute or two is brilliant! At first I was unsure if it would grill properly, but on medium heat it turned out perfect. I don’t think I can ever eat flatbread again unless it has been grilled.

I look forward to making this recipe again and again. If you enjoy cooking on the grill as much as I do, then you have to try this!

    5 Stars from me!

I admit that I have not had the opportunity to make this yet but have thought about it…..often (that’s no joke…I don’t joke about food). In the next couple of weeks, I WILL MAKE THIS!

Alright…Finally, made this last night but with a few changes.
I didn’t grill anything but wished I had because I know it would have made a huge difference in the flavor. I used kalamata spread instead of olive tapenade and a Colby/Pepper Jack cheese blend because that was all I could find in the grocery store at the time. In spite of these changes, we LOVED it! 5s all around the table last night on this one. The chicken alone was delicious!

The next time I make this, I will stay true to the recipe with the exception of the onions…I think I’ll grill them with the chicken rather than leave them raw because they kind of overpowered the spread and we’re not 100% in love with raw onions.

This is a tasty complex of layered flavors that meld together well while still maintaining their own identity! YUM!

Thanks for sharing this recipe, it’s AWESOME!
